Question by Document Guy: Why is there so much golf on TV on Sundays? Are that many people into that poor excuse for a sport?
I hate golf. I’ve been on swim team all my life, I love rock climbing, riding on the bike, doing trick on my rolller blades on the ramps. I love to play football and baseball. I used to do gymnastics, but I never got a good level.

When I see golf, I just find it STUPID. I think it should be great for senior citizens, but I could never understand why would young people play it.
There’s a lot of golf on TV, WHY????
I can’t understand why would anyone play. much less watch it?

Who watches all this golf coverage?

Best answer:

Answer by ksinghvirk
I’m 14 and I love to play and watch golf.

If you try it you’ll love it. I used to hate golf before I started to.

I have played in Oregon a little bit and love it. I live in Utah now and wish there were more places to play. It is a prefect summer sport for those of us that are not as good at regular Golf! I just am going on a trip across the country and am wondering where are some good places to go.

Best answer:

Answer by Josh M
We love disc golf. A lot of fun and the price is right. I live in Nebraska and there’s a 36-hole course in Lincoln. Really nice if you’re ever in town.

Best answer:

Answer by Allen C
No, Those scores are not good enough to play in a match on the team, maybe not even make the team. I’m playing golf for college and they told me I would have to shoot between 76 and 88 to even play in a match and their a Division 3 school

Question by Golfer 2008: Should i develop a stronger and more supple body for golf?
Im only 15 years of age, and would really like to generate alot more distance, clubhead speed, and would like to improve my posture at the same time. Additionally, what kind of exercises and how long will it take for the effects of the exercises to show in my golf game? Thanks.

Best answer:

Answer by dan_jjb
YES!

Strength and fitness generally is one of the most overlooked parts of golf by amateurs. Guys want to go out buy new clubs and instantly be better. I’m sure you’ve heard the old saying “it’s the indian, not the arrow”, this applies to golf too.

As to what to do, this depends on your condition now.

As a general idea, you want to increase flexibility around the ankle, hip and shoulder joints. Concentrate on both static and dynamic flexibility.

You want to increase strength primarily in the legs, core and back. Forearm and upper arm strength can also be useful.

If you are not sure about any of this, or want specific tests and routines, feel free to contact me through my profile and I will help you out.

Also a good source of information is mytpi just google this.

Hope this helps, and good luck.

Best answer:

Answer by Tirata B
In playing golf, your opponent is yourself. This means on one can destroy your score. If you would like to be a winner, you should remind yourself all the time during playing on course that you have practiced hard to win this competition, so you will not think of the last shot as well as the next shot, and you will make the best of present shot. It seems no benefit to do think of the bad things destroying you score.

Question by warm_caffeine: How much time should you practice in golf?
How many hours per day or per week should I be practicing to become better at golf. I just started taking lessons, so I’m learning about how to swing. What are some suggestions, and techniques about overcoming fatigue. Yesterday I was at the range around 3pm and it was so hot, that my swing was off and I couldn’t practice effectively. I want to learn to become better at the sport..not necessarily to play for the PGA. Also, any suggestions about proper apparel to practicing at the range? I am practice at a public range, it is not a country club.
Also, why do my knuckles feel so sore, like arthritis?

Best answer:

Answer by jeff g
Practice early in the morning while it is still cool outside. Practice every day and take lessons from a golf professional that you could find at your local golf club. The PGA.com website has instructional videos and they can also help locate a professional in your area.

Question by michelle: why is Tiger Woods infidelity such a big deal, it has nothing to do with golf!?
I don’t get why he’s losing sponsors and given this criminal status because he cheated on his wife…. yeah it sucks but his fans watch him and buy his sponsored products because of golf skills NOT his husband skills. Why is it a big deal that he’s gonna be in the masters, OMG the pro golfer is gonna play golf even though his wife is mad at him! this is national news!

Best answer:

Answer by Uncle Pennybags
In the greater scheme of things, you are right. His infidelity won’t effect our lives at all.

But it was still interesting. I mean, he didn’t just cheat with one woman. He cheated with a lot of women.

I am going to start the golf sports, any advise for new hand? and I only got driver and fairywood, want buy a set of iron set, ask for more suggestion. thanks.

Best answer:

Answer by Golf ‘n Pix
First thing is that you need clubs. A driver and 3 wood aren’t going to cut it. Get yourself a decent used set of irons and a putter and bag.

Next is practice practice practice. I would recommend taking some lessons so that you can groove a good swing from the start. If you don’t, you may fall into bad habits and never recover.

Watch golf, take care of your equipment, and practice properly. You’ll do fine.
