Recommendations for a beginner for disc golf supplies? 1 comment
Question by GOAT: Recommendations for a beginner for disc golf supplies?
I want to try a new sport and some people from my work are trying to get into disc golf. I want to buy some discs to start out with but I dont know what brand to buy and where to get it. Can someone recommended a brand of disc to buy for someone starting out?

Answer by JZip
keep it simple to start out. buy some Innova discs in the dx plastic. DX is their entry level plastic, less expensive, but less resistant to damage.
buy a driver, a midrange, and a putter. just learn the three discs to start. you might consider a tee bird, a roc, and an aviar.
go online. there are dozens of dealers and plenty of other resources to help you.
most of all, have fun.
don’t know where you live, but you can use the PDGA course directory to find the courses in your area. just enter your zip code: http://www.pdga.com/course-directory

How do you determine the core size of a golf club’s shaft? 2 comments
Question by playaut0785: How do you determine the core size of a golf club’s shaft?
I have searched the internet and every methot to do this requires that you take the old grip off of your club and measure. Since i will be purchasing a set of grips and installation kit online from amazon, I don’t want a period of 2weeks without grips on my clubs. I dont want a professional to replace them for me for obvious price reasons. Lastly and most unfortunately the golf club maker of my set doesn’t reveal this information on their website and the only contact with them is by mail [slow]. Thanks for any advice.
I use Tommy Armour Morph Irons(rifle 5.0 shaft R flex),
Adams Golf 460D (Nv regular flex),
Adams Golf ovation 4 wood (stiff flex)
these are the clubs that i wanted to re-grip.
Thanks for any advice.
P.S. lets say for instance that my golf clubs have a .620 core size and i buy the .600 then im out 80 bucks. this is why i want to know.

Who can help me set up a new disc golf course in Sebring Florida? 1 comment
Question by chrisinsebring: Who can help me set up a new disc golf course in Sebring Florida?
I am a local resident and love disc golf but the nearest course is almost 2 hours away. The town I live in could use this sport! How can I get started? If you have had a hand in getting a new disc golf course in your community please give me some input!

My fiance’s dad is currently building a golf course in California. As far as I know, the first step to building a golf course is aquiring the land to do it, then getting all the proper permits from the community in order to build. After you get all the permits and clear the land and hire someone to design all your holes, you hire and engineer and architect and begin building. You’d want to check with your local government for all the permits you need.

How about Golf in the Olympics ? 3 comments
Question by Darren: How about Golf in the Olympics ?
Golf is a world wide sport. So I think it should be an Olympic
sport. You could have trials and obviously take the best from the countries that enter.Imagine the Tiger and Phil team. The tournament could be a 4 round match, like a regular tourney. The top three would medal. All the fun and the pressure of winning for your Country. What do you think?Good or bad idea?
Best answer:
Answer by Eldonado
I think it golf was actually an Olympic event early in the 20th century. No idea why they took it out.
Fuzzy memory, but I think it was also a demo event last summer Olympics.
Yeah, it’d be a good idea to have it in.

I think golf is more of a sport than boxing. Anyone else agree? 4 comments
Question by Beer Farts: I think golf is more of a sport than boxing. Anyone else agree?
OK so here’s my theory: boxers just go in and punch each other while golfers require tremendous skill, and concentration. With that said, I don’t think boxing should even be a sport when most people can punch. Golf on the other hand, can’t be played by the average Joe.
Anyone agree with my theory?

All sports are ‘sports’. no matter how you put it. A ‘sport’ to someone else might mean slot-cars, running, chess, weight-lifting, dog trainer,….you get the idea. an average joe can do anything he/she wants. We all start out as Average Joe.
